If you have not been seen by Professor Craig for more than 3 years, your next appointment will be booked as a Mini Initial Consultation rather than a follow-up, as a fuller review is required.
We request that all Initial Consultations are settled in advance of your appointment and that you liaise directly with your insurers should you wish to recoup the cost through them.
Tests and Investigations
Whilst under Professor Craig’s care you may need certain tests (such as blood tests or imaging, for example an X-ray, MRI or CT scan) to help Professor Craig diagnose your condition. Any fees for recommended tests undertaken will be determined by the clinic or hospital you visit and charged to you, or to your private medical insurer, separately.
Cancellations and Non-Attendance
We require a minimum of 2 working days’ (48 working hours’) notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less notice, and appointments missed without notice (non-attendance), will be charged at the full fee. Notice of cancellation must be given during office hours by telephone on

Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.
Professor Craig is recognised by many private medical insurers; however, you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer, and it is your responsibility to check that they will cover the fees for each appointment.
Insurance claims are administered on our behalf by our third-party billing partner, Medserv.
Medserv also collect prescription fees on our behalf; for any prescription request, they will contact you directly and send a separate payment link.
If you are funding your care privately (self-funding), we require payment in full no later than 72 hours before your appointment.
Appointments that remain unpaid at that point will be cancelled. We accept all major credit cards, and payments are taken securely via Stripe payment links. Out-of-consultation administrative requests (such as letters, forms and reports) are charged at between £50 and £175 depending on the request and are payable in advance.
Accounts that remain unpaid may be referred for recovery, and you remain responsible for any costs reasonably incurred in recovering an overdue balance.

Please be aware that Prof Craig adheres to the National Guidelines (NICE) when trialling any medication.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
Your personal and medical information is held securely and processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. It is used to provide and administer your care and is shared only where necessary for your treatment, with yourconsent, or where we are required or permitted to do so by law. A copy of our privacy notice is available on request.
Sharing Information with Your GP
With your consent, Professor Craig will write to your GP to keep them informed of your care, including your diagnosis, treatment and any medication prescribed. Keeping your GP informed supports safe, joined-up care, particularly where medication is involved. You may ask us not to contact your GP, and you can tell us this at any time. Please note that, in limited circumstances, Professor Craig may need to share information without your consent where he considers it clinically necessary or is required to do so by law, or example, where there is a risk to your safety or the safety of others.
Use of AI to Support Clinical Notes (Heidi)
To help produce accurate and timely clinical notes and correspondence, Professor Craig may use a secure AI-assisted documentation tool called Heidi during your consultation. With your consent, Heidi processes the consultation to draft a set of notes, which Professor Craig then reviews and finalises. The tool supports documentation only and does not replace Prof Craig’s clinical judgement. Your information continues to be handled in accordance with UK GDPR, and audio is not retained at any stage. The use of Heidi is optional; you may decline it or ask for it to be switched off at any time, without it affecting your care.
